I decided that with all the drives out to Chilliwack I had been doing I should do one more for pleasure. After taking a walk along the Vedder Dykes and realizing they work their way towards Cultus Lake I decided I might as well check out Cultus Lake before the summer rush starts again.

I took a nice walk from Entrance Bay to the Seven Sisters and then towards Teapot Hill. On the way back I decided to take the long cut and hike up the hoarse loop to get a little more uphill in. On the way back long the trail though I did cut down to the road to check out the lake shore a little more.

It really is a pretty lake when the crowds are down and there are almost no power boats in the lake. When the summer crowds show up though run a way fast!
I wish this was more fresh in my head but with the photo uploader down I am a tiny bit behind on my hikes/walks.

Forgot I had this little video of one of the Seven Sisters

Last summer I tried to cut straight through the forest from the Douglas Fir Trail to the Teapot Hill trail with a 1 year old on my back.....long story short.....don't follow the footpath that looks like it leads that way.....it goes nowhere. Love the moss pic.

It's definitely a nice area without the crowds etc....and a good place to take people who have never car-camped before.

For me that's a thought evoking pose with your son beside the big old growth tree.
