| I use an outbound 55l as my dayhike/photo gear pack and it works well for that. But that being said, they are cheaper quality packs. |

I really don't want to vouch for the quality, I have one pack about 7 yrs old now, but it's bomber. It looks new, nothing has broken in all this time. It felt and still feels absolutely solid....
In an older thread:http://www.clubtread.com/sforum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=20390&whichpage=1
People gave opinions both good and bad....overall, I'd say the opinions of actual users were generally favorable, in fact, probably not much different than an opinion thread on a top brand. Some had good luck, a few didn't! Generally the biggest criticism just seems to be a vague: they're cheap! Which of course is partly why I wouldn't want to vouch for them, if you buy an expensive pack and it breaks one says: oh...bad luck...I must have gotten one of the few flawed ones...that makes me angry...they shouldn't have any bad ones! If a cheap pack breaks, one says: oh....it broke just like I knew it would...curses on me for foolishly buying a cheap pack, and for anyone who told me to....this is obviously representative of all their packs!
In any case, if they're anything like my old pack, the deal is a steal. |

| Not interested in one, but just out of curiosity, do they come in different fitting sizes? For some reason I doubt it, but maybe they do. |

I don't know but I also doubt it. Some do have torso length adjustment systems though.

| Oh I will say that half-price is a good deal. I think I paid like 5 bucks for mine. By cheap I mean the materials are on the heavier side, there's no fancier pouches, webbing or pockets like you'd find on the better packs and the buckles and suspension aren't as good nor adjustable like a better pack would be, but as a somewhat reliable no-frills inexpensive pack it does the job. |

I agree, though I have found they often have a lot of those features...but yes, I think they are not as refined, and yes, likely on the heavyweight side. |
