How everyone , mainly those from this area, I received this deadline notice yesterday from someone, and it concerns MT Arrowsmith/RDN , and sounds like a remix of the defunct MABR trying to receive & instill new ideas& members to keep the UN Biosphere designation intact & relevant. Let's hope they are open to all ideas from the public especially if it involves how the RDN & parks & industry & municipalities does things and are willing to bend for the environment. I could name a few, such as an outright ban on yard pesticides [ the CRD/saanich area has a "500 dollar fin"e in place for violations, we got practically zip for any bylaws & no teeth], a comprehensive anti-idling policy is needed here and all parks need a 99% percent no-fossil-fuels emmssions policy from any sources including parks staff, end all logging on the remainder of Mt Arrowsmith & upper cameron rivers. A good goal to strive for? Time is not only running out on the registration deadline , but also for the environment& our health.
