I have Fri-Sat-Sun-Mon off and would like to get out for those days. Several trips piquing my interest these days. Anyone free?

Looking at easier trips; possibly Iago/Bear on Sunday... or Black Mountain, St. Marks' off the North Shore.

Sorry for the lack of reply. Been really busy lately. Thanks for the interest and input, guys. The more I've been thinking about it, the more I want to be out feeling the summer vibe -- low elevations, snowlessness, sun tanning... If the weather's good, I think I might stay low & out of the snow and try doing some gold panning. I'm totally amateur but have a fervor for it lately and want to try out my equipment! I could be interested in something else, I suppose, so it wouldn't hurt to keep this thread going for people to share ideas/plans :)
Adios!

Only if there's no gold for me!

Next weekend is reserved for prawn fishing and shooting golf balls off a deck into the ocean.

I prefer to load multiple golf balls into a potatoe canon, is this allowed?

Not to rain on your parade but most rivers and creeks are in flood and best panning is later in fall or late summer when things settle down. But I have thought which I will pass along to you.

I was going to say here:

But then it was even snowing up there in the middle of June so I guess that will not do.

I'm glad you have thought. Can you let me in on them? ;)
Joking aside, if you have more gold panning input, I'd be very glad to hear it. Was thinking of panning not right at the river, actually, so maybe time of year won't matter as much? Though, leaves more sorting to me, I guess.
And of course, this being Club Tread, I plan to hike aggressively much of the time, and do gold panning more at my infrequent breaks from my major sport of hiking. That's for you, Aqua Terra :)

To break some more rules, perhaps I could do several creek crossings in one of my trucks, maybe floor it on a good deposit area, and really churn up the nuggets.

You could then catch the loose Gold just downstream with multiple pans. The profits would go to new tires, fuel, Beer, and then whatever is needed

Jon! I'm going gold panning with Dawn, from the Great Divide Trail! Call me if you & Chris want to come/more info (still have my #?).

Aqua Terra: Wow, I'm getting the sense that this weekend may be the type of camping that would break all kinds of CT rules! :) Have a good one!

We're heading to Palouse, down in Eastern Washington. Just to wander around a bit...
