Went with Calixtomoon's meetup group up to Zoa today and took Alexa along. This was my first snowshoe trip with her and thought it would be good to take her along to the mountain that bears one of her middle names. Zoa is normally an easier trek up to the first summit, but carrying Alexa plus gear for two made it a bit more challenging. It's one thing to be packing some 50lbs, but still another to have live weight that shifts on you without notice and tends to complain when you stop to take a breather .
Weather for the mostpart held for us <no precipitation yay!> but the views were lacking to the west. Got some sun but it was mostly cloudy. All in all still a great day to be out and enjoy

Sunscreen time!

Summit reward!

Richard this one's for you:

Cali and his friend taking the easier way down:

On the way back I introduced the group to the Wildcat Pub and Grill and recommended the "Rowdy Rosedale Burger" to Cali and his friend, which I can say between the two of them they could not finish.

Looked like you had a fine day out, and an enjoyable one. Great you got to take Alexa along, must have been a serious strain on your back.

The Sherpani pack that I use actually carries the load surprisingly well. I would say it's actually more comfortable than my Osprey backpack.

Nice trip guys and girl and Zoa on Zoa is a catchy title. HA! re: the Rowdy Rosedale Burger. I have yet to watch a person eat that in a single sitting!
