I believe we in SW BC are safe; these things have a limit.

Will keep my eyes to the skies when hiking Isaar tomorrow.

The two 10,000-pound Predator-B unmanned aircrafts based in Grand Forks, N.D., have a 950-mile coverage range and "they do enter Washington airspace, in the vicinity of Spokane," said Customs and Border Protection spokeswoman Gina Gray on Thursday.

I read a lot about drones on a regular basis. Their new technology for drones will be nuclear powered. They will be able to hold holding patterns for not days but months if not years. Crazy!

They also can peer a good 30 kms into our sovereign borders and from a distance of 5 miles & 20,000 feet pinpoint a kill shot on unsuspecting innocents.
Google drones and personal aerial remote controlled vehicles and you will be shocked what can be bought.
The government is receiving request to ban or severely limit the use & ownership of these in the backcountry due to issues of "fair chase" of game, privacy isuues, and harrassment of hikers, game, hunters.

on a side note, see what else some people are up to with drones...

Nothing like some good Sunday morning fear mongering, eh FoxNews? You know what else can pinpoint kill shots on unsuspecting innocents? Anyone with a gun, regardless of nationality. I guess we should also be afraid of American nukes, because they can certainly drum up a kill shot on unsuspecting innocents with a nuke. I'm sure you wouldn't be imagining unrealistic scenarios for the sake of sensationalism, there must be real risk here. I look forward to your posts of news articles outlining the American massacre of unsuspecting, innocent Canadian citizens. Thanks for the warning, FoxNews!

Never watched fox news, how about you sitting and waiting in your comfy chair at the station ,waiting for death and injuries?[ no insult intended, just a recognition that if your job involves human suffering then you too should be outraged at the intended uses for armed drones that involve over 65 percent collateral injuries. You should be in solidarity with your Crescent-Star & Red Cross colleagues of Medicine]
I got these facts by studying modern warfare methods and listening to live radio newscasts and interviews with victim nations of american drones.
Currently nearly 50 nations worldwide are using or developing armed drones.
Beyond scary, more like a human rights abuse and privacy invasions.

Hi Cambium - I've heard that these hats will protect unsuspecting innocents from one of those killshots - pretty sure that they make one in your size too!

Looks a little like the operators of drone craft deep inside their buildings in a suburb of New York State, a place that launches most remote attacks and is unwittingly placing the community around it as a prime 'terrorist' priority target after so many children and civilians have been killed in afghanistan and warizstan and iraq.
Only a matter of time.
The Pakistani Lawyer working for these victims was inexplicably denied entry to the USA to interview various witnesses and had his passport revoked. A well known lawyer[ source cbc radio april 2012].
Go figure if you believe in true justice. Uncle Sam thrives from the likes of deniers and the willful blind.
The first innocent killed in afghanistan was a "very tall man" remotely targetted as fitting the description of osama bin laden. In fact he was a poor family man scrounging through a scrap pile meaking out a meager existence. Poof, dead by drone.
Scum bag flight-operators.
