Looks like the "First Brigade Trail" in the Fraser Canyon has had some major upgrades and a rename:

Their page makes it sounds new - it's exactly the same as the 103 Hikes route, but with some significant cleanup and an improved campsite. Cool stuff.

The map shows the Bluffs Trail continuing north below Gate Mountain - something I wasn't aware of. Perhaps upgrades are planned for the original gold rush route?

Thank you for this update! Only a few days ago I was putting the "First Brigade Trail" on a list of possible hikes for this spring. I wasn't too impressed when I hiked this trail five or six years ago, but I thought I should have another go at it in the hope that the ugly burnt area had regrown somewhat by now.

Like you said - cool!

Read about the opening of this trail in the local paper but wasn't able to make it out. Looked through the flicker pics and the upgrades look good!

What I would like to know is if anyone has hiked the part of the trail that says, TO BOSTON BAR? I would like to hike to Boston Bar if the trail is in reasonable condition and someone wants to join me. Perhaps this is the Bluffs Trail continuing north below Gate Mtn.?

Was there a sign that said that? My understanding is that it was a trail back in the 1800's, but has never been recleared/restored. Could be wrong though! I don't remember seeing it when I hiked Gate Mountain two or three years ago.

Yes, there was a fork in the trail with a sign to Boston Bar. Not sure if I took a photo of that or not. Will check out my old reports. I do remember having asked about this trail to Boston Bar a year+ ago and if I'm not mistaken, you are the first person to answer it for me so thanks a bunch. I'd be willing to help with the rebuilding of that trail, if need be.

You follow the logging roads down the east side of Gate Mtn and they connect to the Anderson River roads which will bring you out in Boston Bar eventually.
