Some are calling devious and scary, and part of the WildRose election promise to repeal. Never know if this kind of legislation gets adopted here in BC and paves the way for pipeline projects, etc.

There are other videos that follow but #1 is a groundwork to decide on.

Bill 50 and 19 are bad legislation, but it would be truly scary is the Wild Rose were to repeal 36 - the Alberta Land Stewardship Act.

Alberta desperately needs land use planning rather than the current anything goes gong show -think Bragg Creek logging, the Castle or the oilsands.

I'm no fan of the PC's, but the environment, and our interests as outdoorspeople will take a real step backwards under a Wildrose government.

Private health care. Private education. No legal abortion. No sex-ed. Every inch of the province "open for business" including strip mining. Lower corporate taxes and energy royalties will mean either higher personal taxes or loss of services, most likely the latter.

Welcome to the 51st state of the union. Go 'Merica!!!

With only eight days to go until the election i am shocked that overall BC'ers are not getting much lead-time-knowledge of your election & issues.
Over here the prospects of a pipeline many don't want is on our minds, and we don't really got an idea of either party's stances.
Also, it seems to me, BC gets more CBC coverages during elections than alberta. Ontario gets plenty of coverages.
Heard something tonight on the radio about "gays & lesbians" & abortions or a.k.a. "conscience decision rights of Doctors" legislation.
Also heard that Obama's wife Michel has taken an interest and comparing Alberta & the States election hopes as a "battle for the woman's vote".

That's what scares me about ALL "conservative" parties, regardless of what they call themselves (Wildrose, BC Liberals, whatever). Corporate rights win out over public rights. Tax breaks to corporations and the rich. Ongoing dismantling of the social service net. "The rich get richer and the poor get poorer." Climate change denial. Relaxed environmental protection. Restricted (dare I say racist?) immigration policies. A totally hands-off government with self-regulation by the corporations--let the foxes mind the henhouse. All scary stuff.

Looks like Alberta decided to continue down its path. Good thing BC has an alternative...

For all the good that has done BC Parks..

Alberta is a relatively rightish province, but our dynastic parties tend to end up governing from a pretty moderate central region. It means that the 'Conservative' party tends to be slightly right of centre, and the left wing parties get pushed farther left. Similar to how the federal Liberal and Conservative parties both end up relatively centrist. Provinces that will never elect a 'conservative' government end up in a similar state.

"Private health care."

Yeah. Look at SK. How dare they are to amend holy but half-broken public health care system with private patches. Oh...Wait .... Their wait times are coming down! But who cares since we can go on with favorite lefty mantra!

"Climate change denial."

You wish to portray you opponent as a cavemen, good luck with that; looks like it's the only way available for you in this argument anyway.

There is NO denial of CHANGE - climate is always changing and 30th of 20th century were warmest years, NOT 90th, and guess what? Polar bears population is if I'm not mistaken three time of what it was 20yrs ago. Nile delta had frozen in recorded history TWICE IIRC.
But it sure pisses 'warming' worshipers when you mention that...

" No sex-ed."
Why do you need a TEACHER for that? Or you're so much in so called 'co-parenting' YOUR kids with the government? I'm not. Respect my choice.

"No legal abortion."
Just another lie. Everyone with a half of the brain (WR pastors included) knows that restriction will produce nothing but criminal activity. Give accidental-mothers-to-be options and incentives to keep fetus a give and heatlhy child to those who want to adopt is only possible solution.

But now we have sure four years of prosperity under Allison the Red and NDP twins calling themselves PCs by tradition only.
No cutback of politician salaries, they still be able to give a raise for themselves, no referendums, no elected officials recall process, no replacement HRC with TRUE court process, etc.

Relax and enjoy the ride.

^ no rational for building a pipeline to China who only aggressively violates human rights, takes our resources and steels, rubber, oil and plan to sell it all back to us...why not build 10 more refineries here in Canada and allow us at least a value-added end product and prevent the pipeline project from raising our barrel-prices another 2-4 dollars, which is projected to happen.
The concept of looking after our resources and looking after long-term canadian interests is more important than a quick sell and enviro-degradation.
Proudly Canadian?

...And now gas is below $3 already, oil is $98 something and likely to go lower. Welcome to real world, Alice. How's your rosy budget?

I heard on the news today that the Fed NDP is going to try to slow down & seperate sections of the passing of the Conservatives Omnibus Bills because 1/3 of those 400 pages relates to relaxing and severely altering the enviro reviews and definitions.

Which is likely a good idea. Sometimes they so obvious that may come even from NDP - kings of impractical and unworkable solutions.
