I know I'll be.

As one commentor put it: "There should never be any correlation between the team winning and organizations making money." and I agree.
Be generous because it is the right thing to do...not because a group of millionaires are winning games...and NO, I am not challenging or questioning the Canucks' generosity or benevolence; we all know how much the team gives in money and time.

but there is ..

More games=more 50/50 draws (proceeds to Canuck Place) extended media spotlight means the organizations that the Canucks help support also get an extended spotlight.

And in terms of the sport benefiting non-profit hospice care for kids...Heck I'm all for that kind of making money.

You are totally right.

Vancouver can easily handle the pain of losing, they've done it since they existed. They should consider themselves lucky as runner ups for the last cup, lucky that they didn't end up losing to the Habs instead of the Bruins.

So now where is everyone from the "Canuck" bandwagon going to flee? Any other team choices?
Or are you just going to turn off the tv? Or worse, smash it ??

I always cheer for the team that eliminates the mine. That way it feels like they could have made it if only they'd won that series.

Maybe they should have a fundraiser where Lou stands in front of the net and donors shoot money at him, and whatever gets into the net is donated. If he's as competent at that as stopping pucks the donated tally could be in the millions in a matter of minutes.

Full disclosure: I'm an Oilers fan and there is no love lost on Vancouver.

But come on Van fans... there is still series here. Just win four games, get after it!!! Hockey played in the media is for Leaf fans and other suckers.

Not a chance. If Vancouver comes back to win this series...I'll eat a bug!

Vancouver should at least TRY to avoid the dubious distinction of being the ONLY team to win the President's Trophy (meaningless) and be swept from the first round.

Not a Chance no...

They should just call in sick for the next game. That way they don't lose by any more goals.

Where did jd22 go? Oh he must be tallying stats right now, recalculating over and over...

I'm here. There's just nothing of import to say.

Edler has been the worst Canuck on the ice.
Kesler and Burrows need to step up... and in Kesler's case, stay up.

Also, Quick has played unbelievably. 100 shots against (or so) in the past 2 games with 2 goals past him. Great tender, he has matured since we played him in 2010.

I have to say, though, Edler has been the cause of losing these games. He's directly caused a goal against in each game. If Edler played as well as he could, it could be 3-0 Canucks, or at least 2-1 either way.

Props to LA though.

Edler has played fine. He just made a few incredibly bad decisions at the wrong time and LA was able to capitalise.

That's like saying "if Luongo hadn't let in any goals in games 1 or 2, this series would be 2-1 Vancouver" :P

Can't separate any aspect of Edler's play, it comes in a package.

Guess Edler will be searching what to do. Perhaps another day job for this guy.

Good to see them get at least ONE win in these playoffs...there would have been no end to the jokes and punchlines coming from the disgruntled fans, the detractors and the media.

Still, the likelihood of pulling an upset is a daunting task and the odds are certainly NOT in their favour.
But if you're a fan, you never say never.

You generally don't win four games in a row... you get cocky and let your guard down, and start playing not to lose instead of playing to win. That's why Vancouver more or less HAD to win last night's game whether they had their prefered lineup or not. Awesome news, but sadly the same formula now applies to our side.

They can do it though...

The radio today said only 3 teams in NHL history have ever come back after 3 losses in a series. Do the canucks look that special these days?
It'd be great, I only care about canucks hockey and even then it's mostly during playoffs (I find season games a bit too dull), so the more playoff games they play the happier I am. I just don't see it happening though.

Starting with Schneider definitely could change things though. It's not just that he's a great goalie or anything, it's that he has more to prove than lou and that fire is going to keep him sharp. I think Lou is a great goaltender, I just wish I could figure out why he collapses under pressure.
