Interesting alternative to skiing and snowshoeing.
Maybe it will become a new cross-over sport. I can see it as an Olympic discipline in 12 years ;-)

I don't understand where the snowshoe part comes in. They're just short skis with those annoying scales underneath that really don't do anything.

im not sure i get it either.. Why not just telemark with a pair of voile vecter bc's? Same thing but more functional

Lots of people, in lots of situations, find those "annoying scales" useful. On rolling terrain of some long traverses, fish scales skis are way more efficient than putting skins on, even kicker skins.

But, those are hollow core skis, and, frankly look just like a short ski, so I can't see anything new or revolutionary.

I was in a Parks cabin a few days ago and they had stacks of old climbing and outdoor magazines. There was an ad about 14 years old for short metal skis with permanent skins, essentially the same idea as this.
