Spent a great week skiing out of the Blanket Glacier Chalet with a group from the Parkland XC Ski Club. With a 3 meter base and 1.5+ meters of new snow over the week the skiing was fantastic.

Organizing gear and the short flight in to the Blanket Glacier Chalet.

Poor visibility and avalanche risks kept us mostly in the trees through the week but we found plenty of fun!

Early morning and late evenings were spent cooking, eating and doing maintenance around the chalet with the occasional fashion show and talent competition thrown in.

Mid week we got a few hours of sunshine so we made a dash to the top of Caribou Ridge and got a glimpse of Blanket Glacier and put in some good turns on the way back down.

Whenever anyone got bored we would throw them off a cliff!

And too soon the week was over!

| Looks like a great place. Did you go self-guided, self-catered? |

| I was wondering how your trip went. Looks like fun. I just spent a week in Wells Gray, hope your skiing was as sweet as ours! |

We were self catered and self guided but Al, who owns the chalet along with his wife, came out a few times to show us around. The avalanche hazard was pretty high so we really appreciated Al's guidance as he knows the area so well.
Even with the high avalanche hazard we found a lot of great skiing and left a lot of areas unexplored.
Looking forward to your trip report from Wells Gray. |
