The UBC Ancient Forest Committee and the Ancient Forest Alliance are looking for a ancient forests or groves near Vancouver that are under threat.
Part of this is to create the opportunity to renew the thought of old-growth forests into the minds of Vancouverites as we lead towards the May 2013 provincial election. Of course, its partly because we love and admire the tranquility and beauty of these ancient ecosystems!
I know people on this site cover just about every square inch of the forests around Vancouver. Any tips about stands under threat would be greatly appreciated.
I would also like to hear from you if you are interested in doing some big tree searching. Of course, there is also tons of opportunity to get involved if this is a cause you would like to be a part of.
