I use these http://www.supercedar.com/ everyday to start a fire in the stove. A little piece broken off, dry firewood and no kindling starts a fire every time. In the woods, you might need to use more than a little chunk. At one time they were offering free samples. |

Old crusted thread, but I was at Canadian Tire buying my MountainHouse meals and saw something that reminded me of your question. They sell a box (like 10 lbs or so) full of Fatwood sticks. I regret not buying one at the time but plan on hitting a store on my way out of town this weekend and picking up a box... seems like a great thing to have and would probably last me forever.
