Going to be in Marysville WA soon and looking to do a good day hike within say a 2 hour drive of there. Looking for something in the length of 12mi (20km) and 3300 feet of elevation. If the weather is ugly then a lake destination would be nice but peaks are great for good says. Any help would be greatly appreciated and any info I need to know about trailheads or anything would be great as I am from BC and do not know any of the state park or other park rules about parking or passes.
My favourite hike in WA is Hidden Lake just south of Marblemount. Probably about an hour and a half drive from Marysville. I will be hiking up there next week as the alpine colours should be at their best then.
If you're interested I can provide more details about the trail.
I agree with dmack. I was just at hidden lake lookout last week and it is spectacular. The lake is still froze over and there is much more snow than is shown in his pictures but it is truly awesome. A very nice hike for being so close.
