Anyone know the condition of the Crawford Creek FSR? It was seemingly deactivated and heavily water barred in 2007 but I haven't been back that way since.

| I walked up most of it last spring. I was on snow and there was alder throughout. |

I was just up that way.. We used the lower road all the way to the end.. its a bit more clear now then it was as we broke branches all the way along the road. The alder is definitaly there and if you head that way break as many off as you can without slowing you down that way they will die maybe!
Are you headed for Mamquam? or Crawford? we came back from the crawford side of the big valley over there. There was a nice spur with very little growth on it. It had another spur that looked really good that headed for crawford heading up high over the ridge which looked like really good access to sprite lake in the box canyon below crawford SW2
here is a link to the video I made of the trip to Mamquam peak, Darling, Delusion last weekend

Ooo is that the FSR that goes right at the parking for the lower road to mamquam ?
O yea the creek crossings are easy right now.. the water is nice and low. seams like the best time of year to hit that area. If weather holds Crawford could see a bivi in the next couple weeks! This weekend is already booked :( |

This road is further up the Mamquam Main (nearer to Pinecone Peak). You guys were on the Skookum Creek (Mamquam R and S roads).
Crawford is still heavily ditched too.
quote: Snow starts at the Mamquam Main. Most of the road has large ditches as mentioned. Alder has grown in quite a bit on some areas, but travel is still OK for the most part.

I was up it last year in July and the Alder was pretty thick, but I could get my dirt bike up quite far until it really wasn't much of a road anymore. It would be tough on a peddle bike, but fine to hike. It's too brushed in not far off the main to drive a 4X4 very far.
