Whoever is planning to ascend Mt Garibaldi via NE route, it's now closed for the rest of the season. The bergschrund is impassable.

Some very tricky crevasse navigation on lower Warren glacier forcing us to travel closer to the icefalls . Once past this section, the route steepens considerably to rich upper Warren glacier. We crossed several crevasse leads through a massive bergschrund, 100 m away from the summit.
Sorry, not a full trip report |

Certainly a scary overhanging slope of ice and snow. Nice shots capturing your traverse along the way.

| That looks like a good try. Any other routes? |

Helicopter ;) I think that we will try it again in Febuary when the bergshrund has closed again. We explored all options on the NE face and none ensured a remotely safe passage.quote: Originally posted by MatthewBaldwin

| Quite the crew you guys formed there....Bonn-Tien, Adrien, Paul and Alex...and yet somehow Garibaldi fought you off. Tough one this late in the season I guess. Close. |

So close but no worries, the mountain will wait for you. Excellent effort everyone! I would have turned back long before this picture:

| Thanks guys!Yup we climbed on Saturday, late afternoon. The snow conditions were actually nice for that kind of weather, felt more like May. Long trip overall, almost 28 km. Really weird, so much snow this year but an opened Bergshrund. 3rd attempt failed...don`t know how many more. |

Even though we were stopped short of the summit by only 100m the day was not a loss by any measure as the views were amazing, here is photographic proof.
