Our trip objectives...

Well...looks like I have some time to kill in the tent up here at the COL between Baby Munday and Knight Peak and I don't have a pencil sharpener so here I am at 6000ft typing a preliminary report on my one bar phone.

My view right now is to the north looking down the glacier behind Knight...I can see Harrison lake, Jones lake too and the sky keeps getting more pink. I suppose it's about time that I pop out of the tent to do a series of sunset shots...To the south the panarama is spectacular with views of Custer ridge and Spickard all the way to McGuire and Chilliwack valley floor.

Today we left the truck and hit the trail at 7:25 on Mark's watch...we made good time getting up the roots, mud, rocks and various snow ramps until we reached the Baby Munday-Knight col...Munday, as usual was so enticing we almost ran up to the North Peak-Middle Peak col...strangely enough...once there we spotted Stewart and totaly abandoned Munday till later.

Down we went to wrap around the bottom and scoot up in a flash! What an unbelieveable day and summit. Welch and Foley were just some of the immediate backdrop that weren't hard on the eyes at all. We had some snacks, signed the summit log and went back to attack Mundays north bump...again up in a flash!

After a quick slide down we were back here at the Knight-Baby Munday col and faced with the dilema of where to pitch our tents in blowing wind at 6000ft...some chose a high camp tucked in the rocks, some chose to camp at the col just hidden from the wind while Mark and I made a rock wall up on a dr bench with a bit of wind...feels pretty sheltered in the tent right now.

Sounds like we're getting rain overnight/morning too...We'll try and wait it out and summit a couple peaks tomorrow before heading back down.

So that's where we're at right now...we all got tons of great shots to share with you later...

Till then...over&out.

Kelly,Mark,Mike,Rob,Cal

Cheers.

Kelly

A novel thing; broadcast live from the COL. That's a real treat for us.... Writing from Logan Lake, saw a nice sunset, experienced a hot and sunny day.... Mostly Clear.

Surprised to see you writing about rain. Hope it clears up for you tomorrow.

...made it back after trying to wait out the wind and rain for 15hrs in the tent!!!

We crawled in the tent at around 9pm and listened to the tent's rustling & flapping while we were pelted with sleet, heavy rain and what seemed to be 100 mph wind until 12:30pm the next day. here's a shot of what the good weather looked like during that time.

Anyway enough gloom and doom. Let's see some pictures right? ENJOY!!!

hittin' the trail

climbing up to base camp

Paul running down a mountain

Baby Munday - the ascent

this brings us up to Munday's ridge...

now some views of Stewart Peak, Welch Peak, Foley Peak

Stewart Peak - the approach

some wildlife on Stewart...

summit of Stewart

now let's go get Munday...

our campsite

some zoom shots

a northern evening view just before retiring to tent (9pm)

the next afternoon...coming out of the tent and heading out

An intents day after an intense day. This has been up there on my "list" for some time. I'm glad you had a really good day of weather for your summit day.

Good one you guys.

Duct Tape Productions presents a rudimentary putz made of point and shoot fragments. Add photos later. Warning: Gravol recommended.
But firstly - thanks Kelly for seeding this event and to the team, Mark, Mike and Callum, for making it eventful.

The video: 1. From our camp in the col between Knight Peak and Baby Munday; 2. From the north summit of Baby Munday; 3. From the summit cols of Baby Munday to Stewart 4. The summit of Stewart.

Amazing pictures and trip! Way to go guys! That place seems to be beyond what words can describe. Definitly going to be seeing it with my own eyes this summer. Thanks for bumping these back to the top of the list.
How were the snow conditions? Do-able without crampons? I'll still probably give it a couple weeks to melt off some more, sure looks awesome covered in snow though.
