Lynn and I decided to go on a hike without snow. We hadn't been to Lincoln Mountain for a few years and thought a revisit was in order. I remembered some steep spots, not mostly steep! There is even more moss here than in my lawn! But it looks better in this setting! Lynn seemed to enjoy these steeper sections less than before. About 2 hours to the top and Fraser River views. The warm temperatures seem to bring the forest alive! We could smell the Pine trees. There's a new TV transmitter, and the cairns have grown since our last trip.
Near the bottom we see the first paintbrush of the year. A short, but sweet trip! |

One of my favorite parts of spring is when the heat brings the scent of the conifers out. Wouldn't mind a hike without snow |

| But did you get any ticks? Lincoln in the spring can swarm with them. |

I like the island in the middle of the river with the pines growing tall. in the eighties down here. Going to be ninety on Friday. Lofty from CT visited and we went from snow to AC on in the car to sunburnt feet in one day.
Great pictures!! Looks like you could see forever up there. And, no shnow. Wow, you are handling the elevation gain and slippery rocks quite well. Way to get out there!! We'll all have to do some Valley of Fire some time when you come down in winter. thanks for the river views! I can't believe that Island can support those trees. Doesn't it go to flood stage and wipe it out? |

Kanike, if this is your favourite hike then you're ready for climbing! I get so scared on that roped section that my fingers lock up from holding the rope too tightly. I think I'll look for an alternate route next time.
We did this trail exactly 4 years and 2 weeks ago and it's interesting on how much steeper it is then I remembered.

Happy trails, Lynn

| Climbing? That sounds fun! I just need someone to climb with. :) The average grade for Mt. Lincoln is 23.2%! Not sure if there is an alternate way up or not? |
