We went for a simple paddle in our inflatable "kayak" on Alouette Lake. We got a good look at a pair of nesting Ospreys.

How nice to get a little personal with the Ospreys. I love watching them fish. Allouette makes a great paddle |

Way cool!! Nice pictures. I am going to kayak 11 miles down stream on the Colorado River starting right below Hoover Dam. Next Spring. ahhh.. I miss the peace of being on the water. I miss me sailor days..... Lucky you. I rarely see any living creatures in the desert hiking. |

| I would call 6hrs in a Tahiti Classic as being epic. Looks like you were tracking fairly straight in the current - kudos. Osprey shots are awesome!! |

Thanks all.
The Tahiti Classic is pretty safe, although it is slow and cramped. It has multiple inflatable cavities so the entire thing won't pop at once. I trust it more all the time and it's definitely a good option for getting out on the water a few times a year. We've had it up to Silver Falls in Indian Arm and had no problems with barnacles.

That said, I did manage to break the skeg on this Alouette trip while doing some "whitewater" kayaking down Gold Creek to avoid the portage. Next time I take it in a shallow river, I will have to remember to remove the skeg. |
