Photos Mike Traslin Andy Traslin... April 7 2011...
Why were we grumpy (I do not know)maybe it was the fact we could not see the peak,or was it the mind numbing wet snow slog (starting from ground zero)...Or we have been doing this mountain thing to long and we are getting spoiled.Boy I HOPE NOT...This should be a place of calm, happiness, joy and a little escapism...

I forgot to mention we saw a cougar on the drive back to the town of Glacier...
I heard the views of Mt Baker and Mt Shuksan are great from the summit of Goat.... |

How was the trail through the forest? Skin all the way up and ski all the way down? Or do you have to carry at all? |

Don't worry about it. Not every day out in the mountains can be sugarplums and bluebird powder. The bad days just make the good days all the more meaningful and appreciated. You can ski the same route a few times, then you get it in perfect conditions and it blows you away, keeps you coming back for more.
Longs days of sunshine and blue sky are just around the corner, we can be thankful the spring melt hasn't even begun yet and we've got a 6m+ base to play with for months to come!!! Booyah!
What were the snow conditions like up there? |

| LOL, I love the grumpy part! It's more like work when the views are hidden and we could use a nice T-shirt day on the mountain too! |

Awesome! I've always thought it would be great to ski Goat. Too bad you were a little socked in... at least you got to stretch out the legs. |

| It's awesome that you saw a cougar. Did it run fast? |

Missed the views but a fun ski from the summit.Only the second time i've seen a wild cougar live on the drive back. That made it all worth it. We do live on the West Coast. How many sunny days do we actually get here. |
