An architect, an artist and a hiker discuss if it's better to have a wife or a concubine.

The architect: "I think it's best to have the long lasting relationship to my wife. It gives me the sort of peaceful life I need for my work."

The artist: "I think it's best to have the wild and passionate relationship to a concubine. It gives me the inspiration I need for my work."

The hiker: "I think it's best to have a relationship to a wife and a concubine at the same time, and they should know about each other."

Surprised by that the others asked why.
The hiker: "If you have both a wife and a concubine, then they think you spend your time with the other one if you are not there. So you have enough time for hiking."

And I was going to tell him that when he recycles a joke, make sure the search and replace actually hits all the instances of the word/name he wants to change!

A trip is about the journey as much, if not more than about the destination. What is the joy in reaching your destination if you've ignored everything along the way?

Alex Lowe said it best: "The best climber is the one having the most fun."

I'm not as skilled as Ron at doing that. Will fix. Then people will look and say, "what the hell were they talking about".

Makes no difference to me-"I keep myself in a constant state of confusion...that way not even I know what I'm going to do next"

its funny.. i hadn't even thought of the edited by ron paley thing when i made that crack. it was actually because ron posts alot of rehashes from different sports like golf and fishing. but to be honest, i like the hiking versions better!!
