Thought I would share some photos since some people have been asking how the conditions are up there right now. The road was clear to the upper lot. I dont know the snow depth and all that but did notice all the snowbaorders and skiiers were headed up where we were to the back country part cause there are still rocks and shrubs sticking through the snow on the lower area where the ski runs usually are. I have to insert the album this way as when i try to upload the photos they are all pink and green?? I must need to update something on my computer!??

we dug a pit and did a rustchblock test on N aspect just about 100ft below and to the east of Table Mountain summit (near artist point). Total snow depth was measured at 1m. Bottom 30cm was very wet rain soaked, snow crystals rounding ok, relatively consolidated. Above that there was a mellow crust layer about 4cm thick 4f hardness. Above that was about 60cm of nice bottom up lightly consolidated coastal powder. Rutschblock test failed about 20cm down after skier hopping (R4). The failure was not a slab but a breaking up of the unconsolidated snow.
In other words it was a nice safe powder day at Baker on Saturday we skied zones to 45 degrees with minimal sluffing and now signs of slab activity to speak of natural or otherwise. Keep an eye for some new layers this week as warming, and soon cooling and more snowfall could change conditions quickly. |

| Amazing how the views are always different with different weather, looks like a different place in your pics (almost). Thanks for the info too, i'm sure that will really help some people who are wondering about the conditions. |

Holy Guacamole! Sweet sassy molassey! 14 of ninety with it's trick of overexposure is so so cool! And 50 of ninety, either one belong on a Christmas Card! Great job. We don't get fog down here. Very very rare in the land of scorch. I really enjoyed the pictures. Really cheered me up. What a pretty destination. |

| For which album were you looking at? I think i have 2 album links posted at top one in the middle and 2 at the bottom for all different trips when i went there...figured this would be a better way to share the photos instead of 3 different trip reports to the same place. |
