What's happening with the construction along this corridor?? Any major delays to be expected? I haven't been up that way for a while.

I'm sure with the long weekend it will be slow going in the final non twinned section, but delays are very minor. They are only briefly stopping traffic when the work trucks are pulling onto the highway. They are getting close to being done. For the most part they just need to pave the final sections. The single lane in each direction now is pretty short as they have alot of it twinned. It never hurts to hop the 1a between Castle junction and LL...

Definately nothing to cancel a trip over, but do leave a bit of extra time.

Thanks, no way I'm cancelling, just trying to budget some time. There have been some epic backups along there this season from time to time so I thought I'd ask. I think there was even a big one on the last long weekend if memory serves around Banff and on a different weekend close to Exshaw.

That road will be soooo nice when its finished. The non-twinned sections with the periodic passing lanes weren't designed for that kind of flow.

Lots of accidents and a fair amount of headons in that section, hopefully the twinning will pretty much eliminate that. If your coming out on the long weekend definately start early to beat the traffic cluster fuck that every long weekend brings.

I had no real delays passing through it each way last week.
