Well the daughter and I hit the trail to do lower Pierce lake last Saturday morning. We got a late start at around 11a.m. but we were determined. The slides offered some great photo opportunities and we took full advantage of them, mostly for the breaks they offered .

The lake and scenery were well worth the slog up the hill and the pain was soon forgotten.

Had a great nite's sleep and started back down the trail. It was a great trip for the daughter who wanted an introduction to Backpacking although I should have done some more researching as the hike is very demanding, probably not one I'd pick in the future for an old man out of shape. Good lesson learned. But we made it up and earned some bragging rights for it. I'll do this one again when in better shape with a lot less equipment |

That can be a bit tough with an overnighter. Its a great spot though. How was the camping area? Its often quite littered. Many other people up?

You should set the date on your camera. The time stamps on the picture say January 2008.

Yeah, noticed the time/date was abit messed up. I was surprised that the lake had some garbage in it and abit of garbage around the campsite. I threw some in my pack and brought it down but there wasn't much room left in the pack for anything.

Hahahaha steep isnt the word for it. It was a grind. I never complaned and I had a great time. Next time im not takin a 60lb pack. But I loved it! I left it better than I found it. The camp site I mean. What dad didnt pack out I did. There should be some nice fire circles now, the ones that I found when we got there looked nice for a forest fire, so they screamed to be redone. Hopefully the next people that go up there, will share the same respect for the area that we did.
