| Does anyone know the most recent trail condition of Flower Ridge? We are hoping to hike it next weekend July 24th,25th,&26th. I would like to know how much snow we may be getting into. |

| We just returned from Buttle Lake area July 18th and did the Bedwell trail. Pretty much snow free to Bedwell lake. There is still alot of snow up on most mountains. From what I could see Flower Ridge was still very much snow covered. We were up about a month ago June 14th and the snow started just before you got to the top of the ridge and it was about 6 feet or more in depth. You could walk on it without too much trouble for the most part. There was some rocky areas that were snow free once up. Trail was clear but there was one spot with quite a large tree down that you will have to climb around or over, unless they have cleared it since then. Flower Ridge is one of my favorites. Have a good trip! |

Hi,
I was up on flower ridge the July 1st weekend. Snow started just as you got to the top and was melting fast. Still lots of snow in places. We did manage to find a snow free site one night, but I would expect to sleep on snow so bring an extra pad. Leave the snowshoes at home but bring extra socks. Great views up there! |

| Thanks for the information guys. We opted to do Bedwell and Cream Lake instead. We still had a lot of snow but it was well packed and stable. The views were spectacular. I may be doing Flower Ridge as a day trip this week, so I guess I'll see how much snow is up there myself. |

| Has anyone been up to Flower Ridge since? I'm thinking of a trip from the ridge to Cream Lake around mid-month and am wondering if snow will still be an issue. |

We are just back from doing the Flower-Rees-Ralph loop, (28 July-4 Aug). There is still more snow than usual for this time of year. However, it is not difficult to find dry camping places. Getting around the end of Flower above Green lake usually involves crossing steep heather meadows and a couple of scree gullies. The slopes are blanketed in steep snow with bad runouts. We went lower, then clawed our way up a gully that was partially melted out. From Flower, we could see Cream Lake, rather Ice Cream Lake. Here's a photo of Cream from Flower. |

| Wow! Cream lake is usually such an eye catching blue this time of year! Guess we won't see too many flowers this year either. |

| Thanks for the info Osbos - that's a lot of snow. Cream look frozen over still. I think we're going to go to Cape Scott instead. |
