I was lost in the the sense that I forfeited the peak I came to climb, Nraiteskel. I made a repeat ascent of another peak in the area.
The alpine enviroment is beautiful but cold. The cold and wind help shape the places we love to go. Hermit Thrushes and Townsend's Solitaires were singing away from tree tops at timberline, very early in the morning. I had a stack of clothes on...don't the birds feel the cold? The wind was so strong it made a sick roaring sound from the ridge above.

Amazing scenes, eerie wintery landscape, and looks of solitude. That's a chill of adventure, thanks for sharing.

Those images convey indeed a very cold and unforgiving landscape. Glad you added some plant and wildlife. Interesting plants, you didn't identify them. You must be more of a birder, had no problem naming them. Nice to see these pictures from one of the more infrequently visited areas.

Ed, I think you get the CT award for most creative TR titles. You've had a few good ones (and good TRs) over the years.

I'd love to go explore this hidden/bonus peak, Gin. I just hope you don't growl at me!

I always appreciate the bird ID's when hiking with you - especially of the calls and songs. Another great TR.
