seeing the post on gear got me thinking...

Where are some good backcountry skiing locations within 2-3 hours of GVRD??? i am looking for a 2-3 day trip with skis and snowshoes (for dec)... and while any summer hike can be done with snowshoes the same cant be said for skiis. i was thinking perhaps the trail to elfin lakes? garibaldi lake? i have frequented manning parks groomed areas but are there good backcountry spots for overnighting in winter too?

any advice anyone can offer would be most appreciated.
