Ryan, what do you use to get the peak names on Google Earth? I couldn't find anything like that in the built-in layers.
It isn't one of the built-in layers - it was a GE file that someone did up and distributed... I don't have the link handy, but I originally got it when someone linked to the website on here. Hopefully a few searches will be able to find it, or maybe someone has that thread bookmarked.

| Repeated this trip yesterday on skis. Drove a bit higher after punching through some snow patches that would have been impassable on the weekend. Unfortuantely the clouds really moved in and we had little visibility from the summit and didn't really get any views. Still a great day on a pretty obscure peak though. The clouds kept the snow from getting too sloppy and we got some great turns off the summit and down to treeline. Thanks for all the beta. |

LOST AND FOUND:
I found the following two items on the route up Ring Mountain.
1.) Blue, three piece telescoping trekking pole left leaning against a boulder by the washout on the road. It has the words Chinook Technical Outdoor written on it.
2.) Pentax Optio W10 waterproof camera in a Roots case. This was left on the snowshoe track across the creek South of Ring. Since it is a waterproof model, it survived the elements and still works. Judging by the pictures, this was definitely left by someone in this group.
If you want these back, just send me a message. I live in East Vancouver. If someone from this trip reads this, perhaps it would be kind of you to contact the group and let them know I retrieved these things. |
