They are very nice indeed. It gives the site a more personable and "homey" feel to it. It's nice to see the new logo as well.
Got a few banners of the Mt. Outram hike I see.....that will bug me all winter as the only hike I took on that defeated me as I was fighting a head cold.

Very slick banners! I should mention that the CT site, even with all the features, is quickest to access and download here in China. Very well built and efficient!

For the banners, I should also be thanking the group here at CT. Most of the pics were ones that I gleaned from various trip reports over the summer. Nice job on the photos!
The logo was a concept that my artist and I worked out.
The patches have been ordered. They have to get set up, created (overseas), shipped through the US, and then into Canada. The will likely be arriving late November. I will be sure to let you know when I hear anything. I'm hoping they will arrive in time for the social in November, but we'll have to wait and see.

Is it just me? Or, are the new animated JIFs kind of distracting
BTW where was banner #9 photographed?

I'm not a big fan of the animated gif's either. I feel a natural instinct to close the window, thinking its a pop-up ad.

Yeah, what's the deal with the animated GIFs in the sidebar? Is it a local user setting, or one that you (Jim) have to put in place?

Its a local thing. I've been telling people that once you hit 4 stars, I'll put it in place. Kinda like you can have a custom description after 2 stars.
