| Snow Forecast tends to focus on the resort areas and Mountain Forecast provides forecasts for major summits. They are both great forecast tools depending on where you are headed in the mountains. |

I find snow-forcast fairly inaccurate compared to a number of other more reliable sites that are available.

Snow AND freezing level forcasts can only be somewhat accurate due to microclimates created by mountains and ocean proximity and are effected by wind direction and speed.Along with a thousand other influences down to butterflies, haha. But as a reference they can be a great aid.I really like the wave forcasts availlable for the beach camps we do.Add to them cloud cover and moon phaze, rise and set and tides and you have nearly all you need to plan a great time on the coast beaches!
Dan, what sites do you suggest for snow forcasts? I'd love to have them in my "toolbox" aswell. |
