MEDIA RELEASE (2009-11-05)
North Vancouver RCMP are seeking the public's assistance to identify the owner of a red and black Specialized CrossTrail bike that has been locked to a bike rack at the base of Grouse Mountain for several days. Grouse Mountain staff are concerned that it may belong to a hiker who has not returned and has not been reported as missing.
If you own this bike or know the owner please contact the North Vancouver RCMP at 604 985-1311 and cite file number 2009-31532.

| Yikes, nice bike. With a broadcast like that I tend to think it won't remain there much longer as some thug decides its a perfect target given the AWOL owner. Hope said owner is alright and just a little forgetful. |

That's pro-active police work.
As an aside, that bike in the background is sweet. |

My theory is the guy went for hike up the grind on the singles night, had one too many beers in the chalet, met up with a lululemon cougar on the prowl that decided to take him home for the night in her SUV and he just hasn't had the time to go pick it up yet?

I like this theory. And he probably got amnesia, which will clear up when he sees the photo.

You guys this isn't funny, this is serious stuff. One of us (CT'rs) Could be lost in the woods up there.
Thanks for posting, someone on here MAY recognize it, good thinking posting it here. On another note I can't see anyone leaving a decent bike like that there, or forgetting about it. They had to drive it there, doubtfull they'd leave without it. |

| Can they run the serial number on the lock? Also, the bike has a serial number, which they could potentially run? |

| They should be able to run the serial number on the bike, as most shops record the number for warranty purposes. And that lock should have a serial number to trace for warranty as well. |
