So I was kinda bored today so I decided to hike up to the Prairie View viewpoint when I noticed that large aluminum structure which looks like a blank advertisement board.
Does anyone know the purpose of that structure? Is it a reflector of some kind?
Is there a similar one on Pigeon mountain as well? I always notice a bright reflection near the top if I'm traveling towards Calgary early in the morning. |

| its and old unused radio signal reflector to bounce signals into banff.for years i always thought i seen a reflection from the #1 and thought i was seeing things.if you head up there and go to the fire tower, Chip (the fire lookout dude)may visit for a chat.talking to him is worth the trip itself.i think i remember him saying he's been working this tower for a long long time.plus he knows the history of the reflector structure.i did this trail in snowshoes one year and was suprised to find anybody up there. |

I always wondered about that structure. But who would drive alll the way out there to watch a movie?  |
