We went to the Harrison hut this week-end, we were planning to do Overseer but the weather was horrible Saturday morning, left early and pushed our Gore-Tex to the limit. Although soaked when we arrived at the car, we were able to enjoy the Meager hot springs.

Trail is in great conditions, well marked by blue tags. Gate above Lillooet river is opened everyday from 8 till 8, $5 per person for the hot springs.

Just before hut there is a very (very) cold creek crossing, no way to avoid dipping your feet, current was not that bad.

It's an interesting area indeed. Too bad, the weather was horrible for you.

Oh man I am totally jealous. I have been wanting to do this one for years but have yet to have anyone willing to go. Great trip report thanks for the photos I have yet to have seen any of the area, and again jealous :)

thanks for the photos and trail info, we were at meager creek 3 weeks ago (soaking in the hot springs when it was 35 degrees...makes no sense!) the dip must have been nice after a long wet trip!

That is a cool looking hut. Looks like you all had a great time, that shot of the mountain with cloud draping over it gives it an interesting and mysterious effect.

Did you hike in from the bottom of the logging road? a few weeks ago we drove down and ran into two guys who were hiking up the MAIN road about 4km from the bottom of the logging road, so almost 8km from the trail head. This was at like 4:30... I'm curious as to how their ascent was.

You actually can avoid all fording by walking up to the toes of the first two glaciers (la flume and magic carpet I believe) and crossing above the outlet streams with crampons, if they are free of snow. Look out for hidden pools with weak ice bridges!

Thanks for all your comments.

We actually hiked about 1 km from the trail head. We have a jeep and left it at 950 m, the trail head is at 1150m. But I think we could have brought the car almost 100 m from the trail head.

We could have avoided the creeks by going over the glacier but that really takes away some time. Lets say it was a very refreshing moment
