A one week adventure to the Wasatch Mountains near Salt Lake City to scramble 2 of their most popular mountains. A few pics here, more on the web site links below. Mormonism everywhere but as a Biblical Christian not for me!

Mt Timpanogos - a beautiful alpine scramble with waterfalls, wild flowers, one of the most popular and I can see why!

Mt Nebo North Summit - highest in the Wasatch at 11,928 ft, quite rugged ridge walk

Thanks Alan - I did Mt.Timp 2 weeks ago while visiting friends. Had a great time but man, was Provo ever hot!

Also took the kids to the caves. Strange to have it 97F just outside the caves and then 47F inside.

Very Nice! What an amazing state! The whole state should just become a national park
and that way I could work for the govt? hehe
Great pictures! It's been a crazy, warm summer with lots of moisture in odd places and times.
I don't get up north, too much. I did it a few times and the drive back is just crazy.
Had to carry a nine volt battery and jolt my tongue every 30 miles or so to keep awake...hehe
Glad you had a great hike. I, too can see through your amazing photos how it would be quite popular. I want to do the caves, some day, as well. Need a reservation?

Hi Rented Mule - not to hijack the thread but I can answer the question on the caves - yes, there is a reservation required but you make the day of in the morning. They provide a tour through the caves.

Two good ones, for sure. Did you approach Nebo from the south (Andrews Ridge) or north (North Peak) side?

Good one Alan. I like how you refer to your car as "Al's Bed & Breakfast"

Hi TMC,

The route approach is from the north. You actually gain a ridge point north of North Peak, traverse the west side of North Peak then continue south up and over Pt 11,440 and do the ridge up Mt Nebo North Summit.

Hi Clayton,

I don't want to say how much I paid for accomodations. It was pretty low.
