After the previous scramble through Welch and Foley, I thought I would give Sheena a chance to do something a little more calming and less destructive on her nerves, plus I wanted to finally do this hike after hearing about it for so long...So we got up at noon on Saturday, and headed out after a late breakfast...lol...Left the trailhead at 4:00pm, and arrived at the higher camp 6:15pm...We spent the night next to the tarn...I love having mosquitos buzz around my face all night. Woke up at 6:30am and headed up to the peak. Reached the peak at 7:30am and hung out for an hour...Reading the log book, it seems no one has been to the summit since Sept 2008? Whats up with that? no one writes anymore? I thought for sure there would be a billion entries...Its such an accessible 8000ft peak...anyways, it was fun reading the entries from 2006-2008, and we put the first entry in for 2009...lol.
Left the peak around 9am, had breakfast back at camp around 10am, and reached the car at 1:45pm...Fun Day!

Probably the couple meters of snow that were on top of the cairn.

Good report but you exaggerated how easy it is, lol.
Give yourself and your friend credit for doing a good hike.
I have not been up there yet but have been eye-balling it from the Chilliwack Lake area.

Well done and some nice pictures.

Well done. That snow in the last picture looks ready to collapse.

Nice pics, plenty of work over a few peaks. Brings back good memories of my first mountain near the Fraser river. Until Outram, I hadn't hiked 1200m to tree line very often.

off topic:
Marduk, did you ever compete in bodybuilding? I competed a few years and judged for 11, until shortly after I started scrambling. Holy **** look at those calves! Looks like you could chew up altitude.

I was just up there.

I poked around for awhile, but could not find the register...so I did not record my ascent.

Nice work Marduk! I hiked Outram last year. My friend and I made it past the lake at the top and started following the red paint on the rocks. It was a very~ foggy day and we were unable to keep going. From what she knew from having hiked it before is that we were only about 15 minutes from our goal! How I wish we could have signed that log book!

Great to see you were up there on such a clear day and looks like the wildflowers won't be out for at least another few weeks.

Excellent work Sheena! You go girl!

but its a rather hard sport to do when you go away every weekend on mountaineering trips...especially when you do a mt shasta trip and your trying to find gyms along the drive down to train in...lol, so ya, not anymore...
