Meslilloet as a day trip?!? What? No, that's way too far for one day!

I didn't even know a northern approach was feasible, but obviously it not only is, but it looks like you get to spend a good lot of time above the treeline, very sweet!

I wonder how a 3-day trip of the same route would be? Triple Point Lake looks like it'd be a nice place for a base camp. But how rough would the veggie belays at the start be with a pack loaded with overnight gear?

Totally awesome, guys That was a successful culmination to a lot of planning. I'm sure glad I never had to down-climb waterfalls in the dark.

This looks like a great basecamp spot. What are your thoughts on campsites on the ridge, Simon?
(No need to type an answer, who am I kidding, I'll be calling you soon enough )

Wheat, I don't think it would be too hard to get out of the valley and on to Triple Point Lake with a overnight pack. I forgot to mention in the TR that when we were contouring around the minor peak on the way back to the pass there were some guys part way up that peak and they must have been over nighting. Route finding as TMC says is probably the biggest concern.

Triple Point Lake would make for a great camping spot (minus the mosquitos and flies), and there are many good areas along the first parts of the ridge too with small tarns.

Ramsay, that sounds about right for the elevation gained. I got around 1850m cumulative with all the bumps along the ridge.

Thought I'd add a few shots of the wonderful terrain on the Meslilloet approach.

I actually almost kinda sorta like this one, due to the invoked sense of scale:

Well done y'all. I made one ill-fated bike-hike attempt with BH on the southern approach last year, and we wound up in the wrong place completely. Good job on getting it done!

Someone really ought to place a summit log up there.

Nice to see perseverence and planning and a bit of spontaniety come together nicely. Good job all! Great photos and description.
