Hello Everyone:

3rd report to show you some shots around a very interesting site a few km from where I work. This will be the site of the Emperor's Challenge run to be held Aug.08/09 This should attract 100's of runners and a lot of walkers to complete the 21 km circuit.
Two of us after work, Steve and I covered a portion of this route, and my sincere appreciation to Steve for introducing me to this area.

Here are some of the photos of this interesting place.

This site is about a little more than 1/2 hour drive on paved highway plus 15 km of gravel road...

I will provide a few more specs on location in a latter post.

Boy Karl, at the rate you are hiking around there you will be in shape in no time to hike 50k. in a day on that Monkman trail. Looks like you have a new pack. It looks bigger. You planning to do some bag nights?

Hey Karl, that's the hike where I ran into a grizzly a couple years back. Neat rock formations huh?" I think Bobcock Falls is just north of the mine site that you see as you turn right to the parking area for boulder gardens. Is that the site you are working at? Now as you say you'll have wheels, you will be able to get to some of the more remote and alpine type hikes in that area.

Cool photos Karl. You are a long way from home but are still getting trail miles done.

Been away from since I posted the Tumbler Ridge reports. Thank you everyone for your comments and kind compliments.

Darrenbell..
I could hike that place all day, so incredibly fascinating. Bought a can of bear-spray, but hope I do not need to use it next time I am up there.

I have good things about the boulder climbing in Boulder Gardens...

How come you're wearing High-vis stuff though Karl? Getting paid to hike, and WCB requirements?

And where are your trademarked suspenders?

Looks like you are having fun up there. I would love to have time to explore that area. It's so spectacular and empty.

Eryne, My suspenders were subdued and hidden, needed bright vest to frighten the Grizzlies away.

After work pleasure and getting attacked will not be covered by WCB, So played it safe.
