We all know who's the rudest on the forum it is obvious, people can't suddenly change, it all winds down to their upbringing. Im glad it is finaly implemented.

I can't help but wonder how long it will be before someone starts a "Who's on your ignore list?" thread.

Of course, there is a chance that none of you read that. Or this. |

| OOps! I never seen that or I wouldn't have shown who I've got ignored... I also notice that someone quoting someone else, easily bypasses the ignore feature, showing the ignoree the information, no biggie. I'm quite comfortable with it so far. |

You're kidding, right? Different people have different tolerances for random conversation, off-topic rambling, or offensive language. You can hardly blame it all on their parents.

I'll probably only ignore people that post incomprehensible streams-of-consciousness, on every thread, every day. People who simply disagree or get a little riled, I have no problem with.
This is exactly my standard too. I have no emotional investment in my posts here, and get amused by those who turn a discussion into an argument. But the off-topic nonsensical rambling has managed to irritate me in a way no offensive language could. |

Lets save this discussion for the trails. On another note, I've been a Moderator for a chat forum for a number of years, and I KNOW the job surely isn't easy. That was a good letter Jim posted to the club, it couldn't of been explained any better. |

Who the hell am I kidding. I'm ignoring the ignore list and the ignorant are no longer being ignored. Too curious
So even though I saw the ingnoramous post with a jab, I choose to ignore him on my own, without the button. Except for this....bite me. |

Possible worst case scenario of ignore list? ... Jack puts John on his ignore list. Jack wants to hike into Big Slide Canyon. What he doesn't know is that John is the only guy who has ever been in this canyon. Jack dies in Big Slide Canyon, even though John posted on the thread Jack started (asking about conditions there). John thought he was saving Jack's ass by posting that it was hazardous, but since unbeknownst to him he's on Jack's ignore list and nobody else posted on the thread..... John wanted to help Jack even though they didn't get along, but..... Am I paranoid? Maybe, but it's possible, right? Or maybe I don't understand how it works?
I'm totally against the idea for a variety of reasons, and I think it's better to develop a thicker skin than to run from ideas that are contrary to yours. It would be a brutally boring world if we all just agreed on everything, would it not? |
