Last Friday, I drove from Richmond up Coquihala HWY(past the old toll booth) to Briton, Tulameen FSR. and parked at 7 KM marker. Plenty of space for parking. The road is free of snow and in fairly good condition, some potholes-using 2 wd. By 8:30 am I crossed a swampy area, Very bushy and lots of water and mud, which is the hardest part of the trip. Then across Britton creek, where I found a small logjam and lots of small trouts in that creek. Then up the ridge. The most difficult part of the ridge is a section of about 150m in length, Very steep-probably 40 degree, but after that , very easy walking. I did not use my snowshoes. I went to a point at 1850m where I did turn back. I could see the summit at 1899, probably only 20 minutes away No difficulties, I plan a return trip soon to that area. This is a beautiful area- estimated time for the round trip , about 5hrs. I did put some flags for the swamp area so it's easy to find the log jam crossing to Britton Creek.
