Windy Point, Foran Grade, Sheep figure 8 plus a short stop at Sheep River Falls. May 23, 2009
Early season solo outing climbing Windy Point, following the ridge north then back to the junction of Windy & Foran (the waist of the eight) Foran Grade across the highway and back on Sheep Trail paralleling the river.
The bachelor sheep gang.
 Views from Windy Point.
Elk rubbing trees. Views from Foran Grade Trail.
I vant to suck your blood!
She learned her lesson though, got popped into a baggy and off to a local Scout Troop for a tick lesson and then if shes lucky somebody will drop her to freedom (not likely).
Some wildflowers along Sheep Trail
Short stop at Sheep River falls.
...and home in plenty of time to get into the garden.

The pic of the tick brings back memories.
A couple of years ago, late April or early May we stopped at Windy Point and walked a few hundred meters up the mountain slope just taking in the scenery and a few photos.
Continuing on toward Banff and Jasper one of the kids noticed a funny looking spider on her pants. And then the other daughter noticed one. My brother sitting in the front of the car with me found a "spider" on his sweat pants. It wasn't a spider but a tick.
Not wanting to freak anyone out, I stopped the car and we all got out and brushed our clothes off.
Later that evening when we got home I told my wife about the ticks and she gave the kids a thorough bath. Another tick showed up in the bath tub.
The next morning we found another three or four on the carpet and on a bedroom wall.
In all my years of hiking and traveling through the mountain parks I had never once seen a tick.
I haven't seen any since.
It's nice to know that when we visited Windy Point a few years back we left a few back there. LOL I thought we brought all of them home.
Thanks for the trip back memory lane. :) That place must be one of the worst in the province for ticks. Perhaps it has something to do with the mountain sheep that always seem to be in that area?

| Good tick story. Anywhere there are sheep there seems to be a good chance of finding ticks. I've always been fairly lucky not having any hitch-hikers on the drive home. |
