| i'm am 38yo world traveller/adventurer looking for a female hiking companion. i'm new to the area (from NYC) and interested in exploring the deep wilderness in BC, especially remote hotsprings. I like ultra-light backcountry trekking, kayaking, whitewater rafting, mountaineering, and wilderness survival. i havnt met anyone in vancouver yet with enough free time or adventurous spirit. not looking for romance just a hiking companion, just a female hiking companion (i deal with too many male egos in my work so don't want to bring that into the woods with me). message me here or email proteanlife@gmail.com |

Heyo!
Hate to be the bearer of bad news but any of us gals that feel at home on the trails and the rocks have just as much ego as most of the guys you will find to travel with. Difference is us Canadians do find a moment or two to be polite and make sure you can keep up with us.
If you find yourself on the boarders of Alberta let us all know.

Well put, TA
I'd rather not rush off to a wilderness survival situation involving hotsprings with a person who has gender-based preconceptions. |

Well put Tamara The same applies for Vancouver girls. There are more than a few on C.T. that can kick my butt on the trails ! However they ARE polite and will wait for you to catch up. |

With a username like GodOfLife, at least we're sure that you aren't suffering from having an ego...lol...
Just a little joke....
Welcome to CT. Most of the people here, guys and gals are pretty ego free. Of all the people I've met on here there aren't many I wouldn't share the trail with. |

Welcome to CT!
I hope you find the hiking companion you are looking for but I think you should give the guys on CT a chance. I've made friends with a number of the men here and none of them have egos that would ever be a problem in the backcountry/on the trail. Rather, a few of them have become quite good hiking buddies/friends. Same with the ladies here. Perhaps you haven't had a chance to discover the more laid back west coast attitudes you'll find here versus what a person may discover in NYC.
Cheers! |

Welcome to CT!
Why put a subject "Who likes adventure" if all of us guys like adventure too? Made me click, should put "What women like adventure" maybe would be a better subject. Not to be picky, just that likely 70% of the people clicking could be men lol. |

I'm with you on that one. Now why would gender matter to someone who is only interested in a hiking companion? The male ego explanation just doesn't cut it. godoflife's intro (dear God, who's got the ego problem here?) makes it seem like he is looking for more despite the disclaimer. Nothing wrong with that notion, mind you, just don't muddy the waters (like in hotsprings). Good luck in your quest, godoflife!
