Hi all I was hoping someone could give me a knowledgeable answer on the avalanche risk in the Wells Grey P.P. particularly Trophy Mountain through Sheila Lake.
It is a 2-3 day snowshoe trip that we'll be heading on. Sleeping in snow caves (past sheila lake in a partially timbered area), but still in outfit for the cold quite possibly snowy/windy newyears eve. The next day will be exploring, gazing at Trophy Mountain and If conditions favor us? we will attempt!
Again The mountain conditions will dictate the final answer, but I'd love to know what she's like up there right now.... If you feel this is unwise at all please speak up, Needle peak was the original destination but I figure there is a much high avalanche risk there than the trophies.... (just by the temperatures and recent snow conditions, and of course avalanche advisaries, but it does not speak of the wells gery area, more or less the the north Columbia...
By the way Anyone driving from Clearwater to/through Kamloops on January 2nd? 2 stinky mountain bums will be in need of a lift. |
