Quakies! Streams! I'm in heaven! I left home on the ridge, St. George, at 4 a.m. on Friday morning; in search of fall colors. I headed four hours up to Provo, Utah. Then, up the beautiful, Provo Canyon to the turnoff into the mountains and Sundance. I ate breakfast at Sundance which took FOREVER... I saw a quakie leaf actually turn from green to gold as I waited... Then, off to the mountains for more walks and drives. Unreal. My wife and son were out of town and this trip was just what the Dr. ordered for staying home alone for the whole week. I went up to Park City and had supper. Then, downing two monster drinks on the 5 hour drive home, I got back and celebrated with my two weener dawgs who were very happy that I had brought home some Messin with sasquatch beef jerky....mmmmmmm yummm Then, at about 5 am, both dogs had bad gas!! D'oh! I will probably not go out for a month, unless I get bit by the hikiing bug. Hitting the gym. Then, it's back on the trails. Cheers! jerry |

Wow ! Nice report Jerry, great to see Fall colors! Lots of water too for a change, thanks for sharing. Do you find yourself carrying extra water now? lol |

Gotta love those Wasatch aspen stands! Not so sure about flatulent weiner dogs, though. |

Wow. What a blaze of colours. Just like a extravagant flora display made up for the elite.
Very nice.

Thanks, Aces! You bet! The week before, I took a 5 mile hike in 103 degree temp. I went through 2 1/2 liters of water in four hours walking.
Hi, TMC! These mountains and streams make me just more hungry for my week stay in BC next spring. ahhhh... can't wait!
Thanks, Karvitk! As a young guy living in New Jersey, I once saw a painting of something like this and remarked how fake it looked, then. No way, could there be such a place. So, when do the larch change? I saw a tr last fall from up there and never imagined a tree that could look like that! awesome!

Certainly an objective met vis a vis the fall colours, RM. Some of the best I've seen on this site. I must get out to more non-coniferous zones occasionally... |

Hi, Sod! My camera got a real workout. Glad you liked the pics. Thanks, Keefer! I liked the dark green spruces jutting above the quakies. Amazing how something dying can look so beautiful.

Great to hear you're coming up to BC for a visit, what area are you going to be in? Perhaps we can hunt some Sasquatch while you're up here! |

Going to fly into Vancouver and go from there.
Can't wait! I was going to come up for winter, but have a wedding to fly back east for in January. I'll have more vacation time to use in April. So, I hear a potato cannon is the best for drawing them out? hehe |

Looking at these photos again, I am thinking this has to be among one of the best collections of autumn colour beauty.
