| Thank you. Is there a list of previous recipients all in one place? I did a search and found a few, but wonder about the whole history of this award. How did it come about? |

Okay , this is for the new members and a reminder to those of you that forgot we had this. I feel it is time we revive our awards and the recent recipients were worthy candidates.
I’ll give you a bit of background as to the why.
Every now and then Club Tread members distinguish themselves by their bravery. They regale us with tales that virtually “raise the hair on the backs of our necks”. These are the hikes that legends are made and, at our dinners, we sing songs and toast their accomplishments. Their trips are chronicled in the pages of Club Tread for all to see and marvel at.
Some of the past winners are ; Geoff Aqua Terra Watchmaker Seawallrunner Scrambler 1of 3 Nomad Newtrail Shadee Sharon Day Tripper Hiking Nut Sidetrip Freespirited Chilliwack Jack (Okjack) Moses Bradv98 I don’t think this is a complete list so sorry to those that I missed. I can’t find the file right now but you know who you are. I have had my staff at Vancouver Hiking monitor this form for some time now and a suggestion has come forward from Otis (our researcher) that I present to you. “Ladies & Gentlemen, it is important to keep in mind on these," Suicide Grey days", that a sense of humour is a must. Some of us suffer from S.A.D. and H.W.S. (Hiking Withdrawal Syndrome) even when we DO get out it is cold, wet, and damp. The only light at the end of the tunnel is a quick trip to the pub for some good food and liquid refreshment. “
To this end we are awarding we can up with the White Squirrel Award for the reasons stated above. Humor , good debating skills , outrageous hiking trips to unique places or locations. For bravery in the face of adversity, determination and just plain lending a hand to someone who is having a crappy time of things. We have many outstanding members that have contributed to making Club Tread a success over the years. So with that in mind remember our cry “"veni, vidi, nudi." ( I came , I saw , I got naked ) Or if you prefer, our Secret Motto. Pull My finger
Should you win one of these , trust me you will be in good company. Should you have a nomination feel free to submit it to me via email for consideration.
Now I really have to log off here as Paris is still looking for a new BFF & Ms. Spears is upset about a new movie of her that is set to launch on one of those naughty sites… sigh , it never ends !! I hope this answers most of your questions.

| It's just another clicky ClubTread sub-group. They claim that the ClubTread peers have something to do with the award but really it's all about them and their opinion. |

Bad day at work today Lynn? You sound like you need a hug!
Actually most of the time I pick the winners (after consulting with the staff) but of course I’m open to nominations. As Pathfinder pointed out this site has grown considerably since it first started and at times, it is hard to keep up with all the reports. Several C.T. members have gone all out ….! One rescued a dog from a rushing stream; one rescued a guy from a truck that was stuck. A few have even risked their very lives climbing dangerous peaks. I’m not sure if Robin ever did get one but he should have. He had to bail 800m short of the summit of Everest! Some like Shadee had to wait for years to get her due and just reward. Others picked one up for being just plain goofy or did an excellent job at a Photoshop. The reasons can be many and varied so please take heart. This was in no way meant to create a clicky sub group and I’m sorry you feel that way. It was developed as a fun thing and in truth to poke fun at ourselves. I mean if you can’t laugh at yourself then you take life far too seriously. I do have “The bear Scat” award, however very few on the site were dorky enough to receive it. Some have came close but….. Hang in there girl. Have Mr. B draw you a hot bath, light a scented candle , pour a big glass of wine and let the troubles of the day swirl down the drain when you pull the plug. I’m sorry you feel offended. Russ.

Clicky Clubtread groups make sounds when they walk, usually with their heels. You probably meant to say cliquey, and what happens when those people walk is they comment on how cliquishly they are moving about together.

Yes, thankyou blackfly, cliquey is the proper spelling. Since this was posted on the "site anouncement" category, I thought it was necessary to indicate that it was not the whole ClubTread community involved. Hence, Cliquey Sub-Group of ClubTread.
I am not offended. |

..and I feel it was well worth waiting for. I have always found this prestigious award an enlightment to CT. I've always appreciated the things that members add to this site to create a sense of community, be it trip organisers, photoshoppers (guilty as charged), or people who simply want to add some fun to it.
Im sure I can think of an 'award' now |
