Just looking for some input for a hike with my two young boys(6 and 8)to Flower Ridge or BEdwell. I'd like to do a one nighter since it's their first trip and not sure ehich of the two would be better.

Thanks for any help

Bedwell is nice because you can stop at Baby Bedwell if you don't quite make it all the way to Bedwell for whatever reason. Both trips are kinda steep followed by nice flat sections; I'd say flower ridge is a little steeper though.

Maybe Circlet Lake on the other side of the park?

Both would be tough hikes for a 6 year old...Circlet may be better, and if things get too tough, Kwai or Helen Mackenzie have campsites.

I've done Circlet too much and it's just way too busy now, I’ve done allot of exploring on this side of the park and none around Buttle so I’m trying to expand my horizons abit. Thanks for the input!

Bedwell, be it Little or Bedwell itself, are steep for a 6 year old. I would suggest a viable and very nice alternative - Landslide Lake. Take him up to see the miniature floating ice bergs in the lake, camp at either of the spots along the way and I would wager the young ones will love it!

Landslide lake is nice. Flower Ridge is fairly difficult for a 6 year old but it is do able. Since it isnt hard just long and steep. Flower Ridge is easy to get to, its starts right near Ralph River.

I saw a couple youngish children coming up Bedwell as I was coming down last week. So, I guess it depends on your 6 year old!

lucky boys. eaither of those could be hard for young guys. Forbidden plateau area from mount washington has penty of options for tenting with limited elevation gain. could be a good choice for first trip.

Thanks for all the suggestions, i think i'm going to give Landslide Lk a try this trip and see how my boys make out with it. How busy is that part of the park this time of year?

Its hard to say, its fairly popular. When I went, it was fairly busy but not too bad. Still enjoyable. It was about this time 2 years ago. Seen about 5 groups during the day. I didn't stay overnight.
