Tried to get up to Whymper yesterday, just past C-17 and a kilometere or 3 from where you turn up C-27 to get up to Whymper, the road is blocked with down trees.
Someone started cutting through but didn't finish. You can still access Whymper by going up C-17, turning left onto C-19 (unmarked, first left)and drive until the bush gets to thick...then its a bushwhack over some steep stuff to get on to the clearcut below Whymper. We didn't make it because we started too late, but it's doable.
Let us know if you clear it or find it cleared. |

| Sounds good. I am thinking of heading up there soon...would a chain saw be needed? of will bow saw suffice? |

| Sorry, didn't see your post in time. Did you make it up? Last I heard they cut off public access. |

| Yeah...the road is closed for fire safety. They purport that it will not be opened until later in the fall. I might bike up and hike, but that would negate any saw work :~). |
