Yes. His post was well written and was exactly what I was thinking. Pointing out worse examples doesn't necessarily make the behavior desirable here. Having said that, I assume the 'nitpicking" was based on the last anomalous line. It was a bit unkind to say the least, but I assume stems from some "history" and not this thread.
Mick, I don't think the button would be censorship or repression. It would be up to each person whether they use it or not and whom they ignore. It doesn't prevent the ignoree from posting or others from reading. |

Thanks Mick... I added you to the list... But, as I tried to explain, this is not a "corporate CT deletion" of a person... No extra work for Jim... It's just if an individual person not wanting to read someone else's posts, they can put them on"ignore"... We all know that T2W can't stand me, so she would add me to his "ignore" list... I think there might be some others who don't wanna read my posts too... Boo Hoo... That's OK... I still may wanna read theirs...
Hmmm... How could I explain it differently... [thinking]... |

That's it Mick... That's what I was trying to say... Thanks DC... (does that mean you wanna be on the "yes" list ??? I need to ask first, in case I get publicly reprimanded again) |

No, I just want you to exercise better judgement going forward.
If I'd greeted your initial (silly) idea by saying, "Great idea, Jack!" then I'd have expected to find myself down as "in favor" on your list. But I haven't ever said anything of the kind. So I was surprised, and less than pleased, to find that you had "assigned" me a position. And again, misrepresenting someone else's position in order to bolster your own is pretty classless. So, my suggestion to you (and last comment on the subject) is: dial back the bluster and let this particular topic die a prompt (and well-deserved) death. |

Hmmm... Funny thing is that I read on another thread where you said, quote, "If we had an ignore button, then..." bla, bla, bla... Which is why I added you (overly presumptuously) to the "In favor" list... Trouble is, I can't find it right now... Maybe you deleted it, or maybe you could point me in the right direction to find it ???
In any event, [sarcasm] I apologize from the depths of my heart for upsetting you... Please forgive me... [/sarcasm] Thing is, even if we get an "ignore" button, you NEVER have to use it, do you... You can just keep reading (and partaking in) all the crap I (and a whole host of others) write, all day long if you want to !!! Over and over again, day in, day out...

1. I haven't ever deleted any posts or threads on this site. I always stand behind what I say. Maybe you're confusing me with some other internets sprayhound?
2. Looks like you made a mistake. No problem there. We all do, from time to time. So,
3. Step up, admit your mistake (which you have, after a fashion...), and let's all move along. |

Well, you can take me off the for list. I just wanted to push your buttons that's all. Me = against the ignore.

Against. The ones that I would want to ignore are also the ones that are entertaining in a sense similar to a car wreck, without the injuries |

People, note the ignore button circled in red. If we have a feature to ignore certain people, then the next thing we will have is a feature to block being ignored, etc. It will be a never ending game like the stupid call display / unlisted call block game with the telephone service. If yas don't like whatcha readin' then close ya 'browser!

Yes, it may have been unkind, but not untrue. Aces seems like a nice enough guy and pretty respectful of all on the site, but alot of the post in the past have been merely fluff that don't really enhance the thread or topic of discussion imo. (Don't misunderstand me, we all post fluff from time to time, but excessive fluff starts to look like your desperate for attention.) So while Darren's comments may seemed hurtful, perhaps they should be. Sometime you have to hurt first in order to heal. Take it humbly as constructive critizism and move on.
As for Jack, I feel you are a flamer, possibly in more ways than one. Other than some interesting notes on phantom flowers, mushrooms, and the soon to be venison that frequents your backyard, your post for the most part are boring and antagonistic, a horrible combination that makes my interest wane. Just the fact you've started this thread shows this. You can add my name to the "Let's have Jim ban OK Jack once and for all" list.
(I can't believe I'm even responding to this thread) |

Some just don't get it, the topic of discussion is the Ignore button, not disscussing people who you'd ignore and why, noone cares who you'd ignore, thats your own business :).
This has been blown way out of proportion, and I don't think it needs to be locked either, I think theres a few replies that deserve the garbage can feature, and some that worth the read.
So far we have maybe 1 or two ideas, where's more ? I wasn't trying to suggest any changes, I just thought of one idea, and it wasn't even supposed to be directed to everyone. I could of sent the owner the suggestion. I truely thought more would throw in any other ideas.
If I was the author of a thread and had 2 people fighting against one another in my thread. I'd love to have a garbage can feature for their replies, for the both of them :). Or if someone was vulgar or rude. Maybe next time they would have consideration for the author. In this case Cjack.
PS: Jim another idear would be to take the website feedback off the mainpage, just like you did the lodge. General discussion here, I don't think Cjack needs his thread locked due to some who aren't here to discuss the topic. |

Hadn't yet. But it feels like a good time to wind this thread down.
Have a pretty good idea of the feature now and some people's thoughts on it and variations.
