I've got this crazy hiking/backpacking idea into my head that, maybe later in summer when the snowpack has melted, it would be a great idea to take a couple weeks and see if it's possible to hike from either Eagle Ridge or Burke Mountain all the way to Whistler. I looked over some topo maps and from my reckoning a workable route could be first hiking due north until reaching the Pitt River then following the river to it's headwaters at some glaciers not far from whistler, then from there skirting the glaciers and hiking into whistler.
That's only a VERY rough sketch of a possible route so I'd like to hear if anyone else has tried a whistler hike before and what route(s) they took and how they found it.
oh yeah, if there's already an old thread on this hike somewhere then please let me know. |

Klaus Haring once hiked from Wedgemount Lake area to Alouette, knocking off peaks along the way. Totally badass.
Look on Bivouac; the trip is there. |
