Just got back from an 8 day course on Mt. Rainier. Had a wicked time, the weather ranged from hot and sunny to cold and WINDY!!! We managed to get up to Camp Muir (10,080) but the weather wasn't going to hold for a summit attempt so we wisely just spent the day there.

I don't know, it looks like good weather to me.
Those are inspiring photos though. I especially like the hikers climbing up and out of the white clouds below. |

| Really enjoyed looking at your pics at lunchtime at work today. Mt. Rainier is one of my favorite places....climbed it 4 years ago and did the Wonderland Trail several years ago....I actually enjoyed the Wonderland trail a lot more than the climb. I take my hiking club there quite often to camp and do day hikes. |

The weather was great the day that we got to Camp Muir, but the forecast for the next day was not looking pretty (and for once the weather man was correct). You usually leave aroung midnight for the summit (which takes about 6-8 hrs) and come late morning the weather got pretty nasty.
Cheers

I always love the 'above the clouds' pictures - Wonderful . Too bad about the weather turning bad on your group for the summit attempt ... oh well, guess you'll just have to ago again |

A fine array of senic shots, I also find above the cloud shots show an aurora of awe and mystery. Especially when you have cloud shots with contrasts of dark and bright halos.
Thanks for sharing.
