I needed to go for a walk but my last trek on the northshore had too much snow, so I went south again. I was expecting cloud, and even got a bit of rain at the beginning, but then the wind picked up and blew the clouds away (at least for me - I noticed the mountains were still a little cloudy).

Some vegetation (for when I'm in a field guide mood later):

I still think it's cool that this area has reeds growing out of the ground. Before moving here I'd only seen them in fiction.

A bunch of vistas (last one is Crescent Beach, surprisingly uncrowded for a sunny Sunday)

Here are some older photos of the same view north for comparison (Jan 1 this year):
from the Nikomekl River: Burke Mtn, Golden Ears?, Northshore

from Blackie Spit:

If only I had a better camera.

Nice shots, an area worthwile checking out. I find the bronze coloured marsh grass a peaceful contrast to the city and the snow.

"spit" o land. What a cool name. Arrrgh! I wish I could have a spit named after me one day. Great pictures! Nice to have such a sunny day and the place to yourself. Your camera and you, take pretty good pictures, as is. Nice to see the mountains in the background. So many places in this world have less dramatic contrast between sea and land. Lucky!

Thanks. I saw lots of Scots Broom in the spring, and looked it up then, but didn't recognize it without its flowers.

bump.

I was looking through my old photos looking at snow levels, and I came across some of these pictures and was impressed. Wow, for me these are pretty good. So I'm re uploading them in high res, now that I can get the uploader to work right. (I was gonna edit and replace the old pics, but editing time's expired.)
